Kim Kellogg has been the Director of the Polk City Community Library since February 2000. She has lived in Polk City for 44 years. She started on the Polk City Library Board and then worked part time at the Library before applying for the Director position. The highlight of her job has been the building of the new library building. Kim was the Library Director during the entire building process and is enjoying working in the new building. The new library is a great addition to our community!
Kim says "I have been married to my best friend for 27 years. We have two grown, married daughters. Kim is the proud grandmother of three grandchildren, Alexandria, 4 years, Danyel, 6 months and Jackson, 2 months. My hobbies include reading, being with my family, and going for rides on our Harley."
Pam Witt has joined the library as full time Adult/Reference Librarian, in August 2006. She had previously worked at the library part time for 7 years. She lives in rural Polk City. She enjoys reading, puzzles, flea markets, hanging out with her niece and nephew, bird watching and Butterfly/Hummingbird gardening.
Children's librarian, Rene Blessman, joined the library staff in September 2008. Rene was born and raised in South Africa and has been living in America for 9 months and loving it. She says "I am married to the worlds best man. I love playing with clay and that leads to my hobby of jewelry making. Reading, photography and hiking are among some of my other things I like to do in my spare time."
Meet Lisa Fullerton—she is the new support librarian at our library. Lisa took the job because she loves the library and especially likes to read self-help books. She calls herself an "organizational geek" and thought the library would be a good place to be one. Lisa's hobbies include digital scrap booking, photography, animals and running. Lisa's family includes her daughter Bryanna and son Brice, along with dog Macy and cat Mistofaleez.
